WILDLIFE MIGRATION

Wildlife Migration in Tanzania and Kenya

The Serengeti Ecosystem and the Wildebeests (white-bearded gnus) and Burchell's Zebras. The wildebeest calve on the Serengeti Plains from January to March. They generally depart the Serengeti in May, where they head east and north for Lake Victoria and the Maasai Mara, crossing the Mara River around July. They leave the Mara in October-December.

DAY 1 - TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK (VOI SAFARI LODGE, 3*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
You are picked up from your hotel at 0500 hrs to be driven along the main Mombasa - Nairobi Highway and after about two and a half hours, you enter Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma Gate. Mid-morning game drive looking out for the big five as well as other animals, lunch at Voi Safari Lodge.

Afternoon game drive in this park famed for its red elephants which earn their name from dusting themselves in the red soil, until evening time to return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 - TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK (NGULIA SAFARI LODGE, 3*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Early morning breakfast then game drive enroute to Tsavo West National Park to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive visiting the rhino sanctuary, watch out for other animals as well. Enjoy watching the physical landscape that the park is rich in. Dinner and overnight at your lodge, watch out for a local leopard that frequents a nearby tree to eat bait that has been set out for it by the lodge staff.

Road distance covered from Tsavo East National Park to Tsavo West National Park is approximately 55 kilometres.

DAY 3 - COASTAL HOTEL (LUNCH ONLY).
Early morning breakfast then leave for a game drive visiting Mzima Springs, hippo heaving pools that produce 20 million litres of crystal clear water per hour that feeds the coastal people. Game drive enroute on your way back to your coastal hotel. Lunch will be held enroute at Tsavo Park Hotel in Voi and continue with your journey to arrive at your coastal hotel in the evening.

Road distance covered from Tsavo West National Park to Diani Beach is approximately 235 kilometers.

EASTER SURCHARGE AND CHRISTMAS SURCHARGE
