WILDLIFE MIGRATION

Wildlife Migration in Tanzania and Kenya

The Serengeti Ecosystem and the Wildebeests (white-bearded gnus) and Burchell's Zebras. The wildebeest calve on the Serengeti Plains from January to March. They generally depart the Serengeti in May, where they head east and north for Lake Victoria and the Maasai Mara, crossing the Mara River around July. They leave the Mara in October-December.

DAY 1. ARRIVAL AT JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JACARANDA HOTEL, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS HALF BOARD)
Arrival in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi and be transferred to Panafric Hotel for breakfast. Thereafter make a visit to the Animal Orphanage, Giraffe Centre known as The Leslie Melville nature and sanctuary which was build in memory of Jock Leslie Melville the founder of Africa endanger wildlife, the Parliament building, National Museum and the City Market. Dinner at the Safari Park Hotel at the Nyama Choma Ranch with first class entertainments of top quality followed by overnight at the Jacaranda Hotel.

DAY 2. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK (AMBOSELI SOPA LODGE, 3*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD)
Early morning breakfast then leave for Amboseli National Park to arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon game drive, look out for the large herds of elephants which make the park famous, buffalos, plains game and the plenty of birdlife until time for dinner and overnight at your lodge. It lies at the foot of mighty Kilimanjaro on the edge of the Amboseli National Park. The rustic charm of the lodge lends itself not only to safari but also to those adventurers wishing to conquer the mountain's snow-caped peaks.

Road distance covered from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park is approximately 200 kilometers.

DAY 3. LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK (LAKE NAKURU LODGE, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD)
Depart early after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park via the spectacular Great Rift Valley sceneries to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Lake Nakuru not only boasts one of the world's greatest ornithological spectacles, with over 450 species of birds, but is also sanctuary to the greatly endangered black rhino. Afternoon game drive looking out for the buffalos, impalas, waterbucks and rare Rothschild giraffe among other wildlife until time for lunch at your lodge elephants, zebras, Rothschild giraffes. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 4. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE (OLARE SAFARI CAMP, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD)
Early morning breakfast then game drive visiting the lake to see the Greater and Lesser Flamingos, white pelicans among other birdlife and leave for Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time lunch at your camp.

Afternoon game drive looking out for the black-manned lions among other animals and birds until late in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the camp. The luxury tents are nestled amidst the rich flora. The camp boasts an extensive collection of exotic birds and butterflies that have taken up residence in the bush surroundings.

Road distance covered from Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara Game Reserve is approximately 230 kilometers.

DAY 5. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE (OLARE SAFARI CAMP, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Early morning breakfast with packed breakfast to be held at a camp then further game drive until time for lunch at the camp. Masai Mara is the southern extension of Tanzania's famous Serengeti National Park. Afternoon game drive looking out for the big five animals among other animals until evening. You also have an option of visiting a Maasai manyatta village at an extra cost of US$ 10 per person. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 6 - TRANSFER TO NAIROBI (LUNCH ONLY)
Early morning breakfast then game drive then leave for Nairobi via the spectacular Great Rift Valley sceneries to arrive at the Carnivore Restaurant in time for lunch. It is famous for game meat and you can sample zebra, wildebeest, ostrich and crocodile meat. (Vegeterian meals are also available). You will later be dropped at a place of your choice.

Road distance covered from Masai Mara Game Reserve to Nairobi is approximately 285 kilometers.

End of the safari.
