WILDLIFE MIGRATION

Wildlife Migration in Tanzania and Kenya

The Serengeti Ecosystem and the Wildebeests (white-bearded gnus) and Burchell's Zebras. The wildebeest calve on the Serengeti Plains from January to March. They generally depart the Serengeti in May, where they head east and north for Lake Victoria and the Maasai Mara, crossing the Mara River around July. They leave the Mara in October-December.

DAY 1 - NAIROBI CAPITAL CITY (JACARANDA HOTEL, 3*, MEAL PLAN IS HALF BOARD)
Arrival and be picked up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the Panafric Hotel for a rest. Afternoon is spent visiting the Animal Orphanage, Giraffe Centre known as The Leslie Melville nature and sanctuary which was build in memory of Jock Leslie Melville the founder of Africa endanger wildlife, the Parliament building and the City market. Dinner will be at Carnivore Restaurant before overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 2. MOUNT KENYA NATIONAL PARK (MOUNTAIN LODGE SERENA, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
In the morning you will be transferred to an area dominated by the only snow-capped equatorial mountain in Mountain Lodge. At the seven thousand two hundred feet above the sea level on the slopes of Mount Kenya, ringed by a dense rain forest, which comes alive at dusk with creatures, all sizes. Constantly towering over the scene are the majestic rocky peaks of Mount Kenya, providing some dramatic photographic opportunities. Game viewing throughout the evening and the night includes elephant, buffalo, rhino and many more. A special contracted viewing bunker, connected to the lodge by a short tunnel, offers spectacular close-up views of wildlife at the water hole dinner and overnight after experiencing fabulous view of the animals at the water hole.

DAY 3. SWEETWATERS SANCTUARY (NARO MORU RIVER LODGE, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Early morning breakfast and then leave to Sweetwaters Sanctuary for game drive visiting the Rhino Sanctuary where you will meet a rhino by the name Morani who is friendly and can gently be feed and pose for a souvenir picture before lunch. The Sweetwaters Game Reserve and chimpanzee sanctuary is the only one of its kind in Kenya.

Visitors can enjoy the unique opportunity of observing the chimps by boat (weather permitting) on the Ewaso Nyiro River. The riverine forest and savannah grassland of the sanctuary is home of more than (twenty six) 26-orphaned chimps. Most of these chimps now at Sweetwaters sanctuary came from the Jane Good all Institute in Burundi, where a great care were place after being rescued from a miserable existence. Later drive to Naro Moru River Lodge for diner and overnight.

DAY 4. SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE (SAMBURU LODGE, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Early after breakfast leave for Samburu National Reserve game drive enroute to the lodge for lunch. This reserve lies on the edge of the vast semi desert lands of northern Kenya. Afternoon game drive to see rare gravy zebra and reticulated giraffe only found in this region plus Somali ostrich and many more, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 5. LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK (LAKE NAKURU LODGE, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Depart early after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park to arrive time for lunch. Afternoon drive to see the spectacular hot springs and geysers at Lake Bogoria National Reserve, caution must be observed while walking near the hot springs since they are super hot. Later drive back to Lake Nakuru for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE (OLARE SAFARI CAMP, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Early morning game drive to see the elusive rhino, elephants, burchell's zebras, Masai giraffes and the famous over one million greater and lesser flamingos that gather at the lake during various times of the year. Breakfast will at a camp site then further game drive until time for lunch before leaving for Masai Mara Game Reserve to arrive at the Camp time for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE OLARE SAFARI CAMP (, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).

Early morning game drive with packed bush breakfast to be held at a campsite then further game drive until time for lunch at the camp afternoon game drive until evening dinner and overnight in the camp.

NB: There is no road kilometers on this day but only park kilometers

DAY 8. NAIROBI CAPITAL CITY (JACARANDA HOTEL, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS HALF BOARD).
Early breakfast followed by game drive then departure to Nairobi lunch on the way to arrive in Nairobi at The Panafric Hotel in the evening time for dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 9. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK (AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Depart early after breakfast for the Amboseli National Park arriving time for lunch then proceed in the afternoon for game drive then to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10. TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK (KILAGUNI SERENA LODGE, 4*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD).
Early morning game drive, to glimpse at the panoramic scene of the Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest mountain in Africa. Back to the lodge for breakfast followed by another game drive until lunch then proceed to the largest national park in Kenya, the Tsavo National Park, having a game drive enroute to the rhino sanctuary where you could spot black rhino. Overnight at the Kilaguni Serena lodge.

DAY 11. TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK (VOI SAFARI LODGE, 3*, MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD)
Early morning breakfast before visiting the Mzima Springs, hippo heaving pools that serve the coast with crystal clear water, watch crocodiles, hippos and fish from an underground facility then leave for Tsavo East National Park. Watch the Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world and red elephants which earn their name by dusting themselves in red soil among other animals. Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge and short rest until in the afternoon time for game drive followed by dinner and overnight. In this lodge it is possible to view game ambling to and from two nearby waterholes through the day, with a canopy of billowing clouds scudding across the African sky above. There is a special 'hide' for camera enthusiasts, enabling photographers to take close up images presence. Underground tunnel allows visitors to view the game at close quarters during the day or night.

Road distance covered from Tsavo West National Park to Tsavo East National Park is approximately 50 kilometers.

DAY 12. KENYA COASTAL HOTEL
After breakfast then depart for morning game drive until time for lunch in the nearby game lodge then later depart to Kenya coast arriving time for dinner.
