WILDLIFE MIGRATION

Wildlife Migration in Tanzania and Kenya

The Serengeti Ecosystem and the Wildebeests (white-bearded gnus) and Burchell's Zebras. The wildebeest calve on the Serengeti Plains from January to March. They generally depart the Serengeti in May, where they head east and north for Lake Victoria and the Maasai Mara, crossing the Mara River around July. They leave the Mara in October-December.

TAS 49. 8 DAYS QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK & MURCHISON FALLS IN UGANDA PDF Print E-mail

DAY 1 - ARRIVE ENTEBBE-KAMPALA.
Upon arrival at Entebbe, you will be met and transferred to Kampala about thirty-seven kilometres (37) for the overnight in a city hotel.

DAY 2 - KAMPALA-QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.
Your driver takes you across the equator to Mbarara, where you stop for lunch. Continue on to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the night at the Lodge.

DAY 3 - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.
Originally named Lake George Game Reserve in 1925, the park was renamed after a visit by the Queen Elizabeth 11 in 1954. Over 540 bird's species including cormorants, goliath, herons, sacred ibis and Kazinga channel may give you a close up view of the abundant hippos found in the channel, overnight the Lodge.

DAY 4 - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK & MURCHISON FALLS.
A drive in the shadow of the mountains of the Moon takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 5 - MURCHISON FALLS.
Covering almost 4000 sq. kms, Murchison Fall is the largest and perhaps most beautiful park in Uganda. The waters of the Nile River now form two cascading falls of about fifty metres. After lunch enjoy a Nile River Cruise where you could see hippos and crocodiles, overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 6 - FIVE MURCHISON FALLS.
Game viewing from the water gives you a different perspective. As you cruise from the base of the falls, you may see elephants, buffalo and waterbucks along the riverbanks. The most highlights is the search for the Shoebill. This large grey bird is best known for its bizarre appearance capped with a Cheshire catlike grin. The afternoon is spend at leisure, overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 7 - MURCHISON FALLS-ENTEBBE.
As you leave drive to the top of Murchison falls to experience the full power of the falls. Then, return to Entebbe where the remainder of the day is spend at leisure, overnight the hotel.

DAY 8 - ENTEBBE-DEPART.
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight to the next destination.

End of the safari.

    CHILD POLICY
    Child under 2 years sharing a room with 1 to 2 adults is accommodated on a complimentary basis, Child 2 to 12 years of age sharing a room with 2 adults is charged 50% of the per person adult rate. If own room is required 75% of the adult rate is charged.

    EASTER SURCHARGE AND CHRISTMAS SURCHARGE
    A surcharge would be charged per person per night on Good Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Easter Monday and on 24th 25th, 26th, 31st December and 1st January. THE SUPPLEMENT WOULD BE CONFIRMED AT THE TIME OF BOOKING FOR CLARITY REASONS.

    NOTES.
    Your trek can be long or short depending on where the gorillas have moved during the night. Once located, most stays with the gorillas last about an hour before the return trek to the camp. Permits are limited and advance booking is highly recommended. If you plan to include gorilla trekking in African holiday recommend planning the Uganda portion first.
