WILDLIFE MIGRATION

Wildlife Migration in Tanzania and Kenya

The Serengeti Ecosystem and the Wildebeests (white-bearded gnus) and Burchell's Zebras. The wildebeest calve on the Serengeti Plains from January to March. They generally depart the Serengeti in May, where they head east and north for Lake Victoria and the Maasai Mara, crossing the Mara River around July. They leave the Mara in October-December.

TAS 21. 3 DAYS TSAVO EAST AND WEST NATIONAL PARK PDF Print E-mail

(Departs on Tuesdays, Thursday & Saturday from Mombasa)

DAY 01 - TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Departure 0900 hours from Mombasa. Drive along the main Mombasa - Nairobi Highway, to the inland through semi-arid country to Tsavo East National Park, one of the world's greatest wildlife sanctuaries, which is noted for its vast elephant herds and variety of game including buffalo, giraffe, zebra and plains game of almost every kind. Picnic lunch enroute and set up Camp. Afternoon at leisure. Game drive late afternoon 4.30 pm. Dinner and overnight at campsite.

DAY 02. TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Early morning game drive before breakfast. Return to campsite for breakfast, depart at 9.00 am and drive through the East to Tsavo West. Picnic lunch enroute and set up camp. Later on in the afternoon, game viewing in the park. Dinner and overnight at campsite.

DAY 03. MOMBASA
Early morning game drive. After breakfast, a visit to the Mzima Springs where hippos, crocodiles and various species of fish can be seen in the crystal clear water. Break camp and depart for Mombasa. Picnic lunch enroute, arriving Mombasa late afternoon.

End of the safari.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.
Cultural visits to villages (can be arranged with the guide), personal travel insurance, sleeping bags (available for hire in the office at US$25 per bag per safari with US$ 50 refundable deposit) drinking water, hotel all international & domestic air flights and train bookings (but can be arranged on request), all airport taxes and visas, all personal expenses and toiletries; e.g. mineral water, toilet tissue, laundry, telephones, beverages, tips, portage, etc. and any other extras not stated as included above

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING ON SAFARI.
Sleeping bag (available for hire in our office for US$ 25 per bag per safari plus a refundable deposit of US$ 50 after the safari; Tanzania/Uganda - US$ 40), money for personal spending and tipping approximately US$ 30 a day, only a small case or rucksack, as storage space is limited (maximum 20kgs), a pair of long trousers and jersey for the cool mornings and evenings in addition to plenty of light clothes for hot days (do not forget a hat), swim suit, a pillow, good walking and biking shoes and sweets, Torch, sunglasses, suntan lotion, insect repellent/spray but not mosquito coils, mineral water for drinking (available for sale in our office) Camera, films, binoculars, maps, guide-books and also darts for our dart board at Maasai Mara Toilet paper, towel, soap and toothbrush/paste, all personal travel insurance and it is good idea to bring any drinks you might want around the campfire as they are not always available enroute.
