Included in the Wedding Package Cost
The following are included in the wedding package cost-:

• The expert service of our own "wedding specialist" and Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel staff, in handling all the necessary arrangements.

• The cost of the Registrar, Legal Fees, License and Marriage Certificate.

• Bridal bouquet, Button hole for groom and hair confetti

• Decorated location

• A cake for the occasion (approximately 10-12 pax)

• A bottle of champagne

• 72 copies - Photographs

• Extra - use of courtesy room

• Massage for the wedding couple

• Surprise beach breakfast

• Upgrade to presidential suite subject to availability, wedding day

• DVD production, motion and slide pictures with back ground music and scenery of the hotel or game reserve

• Giriama traditional dancers, sound system for background music during ceremony

Ceremony,

• The wedding couple is required to be in the hotel early enough for the letter signed by both bride and groom to reach the registrar at least 3 working days before the wedding.

• There are more than 5 different locations for the wedding. Clients are taken round so that they can make a choice.

• Taped music can be played at no extra costs. However, if clients do not come with own music cassettes buying or recording of the cassettes will be done for their choice of music and costs are passed on to the guests.

Documentation
Please note that the following documents must be the original and that copy will not be accepted.

• Full 10 year passports

• Birth Certificates

• Letter from Minister of a church, doctor or Civil Registrar, confirming that neither party has been married before or

• Original proof of the Decree of Absolute if one or more parties is a divorcee

• Original, death certificate in the case of a widow/widower

• Original proof if name changed by deed poll

• If under 18 years, evidence of consent of parents is required in the form of an affidavit by a notary public

Also required are the following details if not already shown in the documentation above:-

• Full address of bride and groom,

• Their occupations,

• Religion,

• Address and

• Occupation of bride and groom's parents

Residency
Usual minimum residency is 3 weeks, which is normally reduced to 3 full days (excluding weekends and national holidays) upon receipt by the registrar of a letter signed by both parties.
The couple must be interviewed by the registrar at the registrar's office in Mombasa a day prior to the wedding day. Ask the Hotel reception for the registrar's office hours.

Wedding Location
The ceremony/reception is usually held in or around the grounds of the hotel (please note that clients may not get married in the sea)

There are two main types of bouquets arrangements. The traditional tear drop shape and the modern posy which is round.

Family/Friends attending wedding
Clients do not have to visit authorities or lawyers. The hotel will do every arrangement so long as we have received all required documents from you.

Friends and relatives staying in different hotels do not have to pay to attend the wedding. However the hotel needs to be informed so that we can be expecting them. Such visitors will be charged for any other food, drinks or other services taken other than those included in the package.

Your Wedding Requirements:-

• Date / Time

• As early as possible - at least one month prior to date

• Copied of birth certificates, passports for Bride/Groom and parents from both sides

• Document of eligibility from local parish e.g. Decree Absolute incase of divorcees

• Full names, addresses, profession for both Bride and groom

• Couple to register at Registrar's office 3 to 4 days before date of marriage - must be resident in hotel for at least 4 working days prior to wedding

• On wedding day Transfer Registrar from town centre to hotel and back after ceremony

• Decorations of Palm Arches, flowers, nicely skirted table , two chairs for bride and groom and one for registrar and for other participants incase of visitors

Set in most idyllic scenery over-looking the azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Cake-cutting, Champagne, Witnesses to shower rose petals, photographer then accompanies bride and groom to take pictures in the hotel gardens

Any catering needs for lunch or evening can be undertaken on request

Wedding reservations will not be accepted between December 24th and January 4th each year, Easter weekend and public holidays on Kenyan calendar. The hotel reserves the right to restrict reservations to a maximum of 2 per day

DOCUMENTS TO BE FAXED AT LEAST A MONTH PRIOR TO DATE

• Copies of birth certificate of the bride and groom

• Copies of passports for bride and groom

• Details of profession of bride, groom and parents from both sides

• Documents of eligibility from their local parish ( should one of them be a divorcee ) - "DECREE ABSOLUTE "
