“Theatre of the Wild”

The sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling, and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300-kilometre-long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, makes for an adventure unlike any other in Tsavo East National Park. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals: vast herds of dust-red elephants, rhinos, buffalo, lions, and leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudu, gerenuks, and prolific birdlife featuring 500 recorded species.

Day 1: Tsavo East National Park, Ashnil Aruba Lodge (Fullboard)

You will be picked up at 06:00 and driven to Tsavo East National Park, where you will arrive by 09:00. There will be a morning game drive until lunchtime at the lodge at 13:00. In the afternoon, from 15:30, you will have another game drive until time for refreshments in the lodge at 18:30 followed by dinner at 19:30 then an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Back to Kenya Coast

You will wake up at 06:00 for tea or coffee and a snack, then depart at 06:30 for an early morning game drive until a full breakfast at 08:00 at the lodge. Afterwards, you will depart for the Kenya coast, arriving in time for lunch.
