Detailed Kenya Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi City to Mount Kenya
Depart Nairobi in the early morning and proceed towards the slopes of Africa's second largest mountain
at 5,199m - Mt Kenya and set up camp on the foothills of the Mountain. The afternoon is spent at
leisure; optional activities include walk to Maumau Caves with a guide, cycling, horse riding and boating
offered at the lodge.
The Mau Mau Cave was used by Kenyan freedom fighters as a hideout from British soldiers during the
Mau Mau Uprising of 1952 to 1960. This pleasant 9km walk through wild bushes and indigenous trees is
located at the foothills of Mt Kenya and open out to a beautiful waterfall and Burguret River. The area is
also home to baboons, Colobus monkeys and other species. Dinner and overnight back at camp. (Lunch
& dinner included)
Day 2: Mount Kenya to Marsabit National Park
After breakfast we depart for Marsabit town and environs. Enjoy a scenic drive as you depart Nanyuki
looking out for colorful fields approaching Isiolo, the magnificent Mount ololokwe (Samburu sacred
mountain) before arriving at Marsabit.
We visit Lake Paradise and Little Lake inside Marsabit national
park. Here, an indigenous forest and a desert come together to create the most compelling landscape
on earth. The dense forest in the park is also home to elephants, kudu, water buck and a variety of birds.
You may visit the town on foot in the late afternoon as well. Overnight at the campsite. (Breakfast, lunch
& dinner included).
Day 3: Marsabit National Park to Lake Turkana
Early breakfast before we depart the cool environs towards Lake Turkana as we traverse the Chalbi desert with its myriad of dunes and semi-desert landscape stopping to enjoy the scenery and experience. Arrive the great Jade Sea in the late afternoon and visit loiyangalani town on foot. Overnight at the campsite set beneath the doum shaped palm trees. (breakfast, lunch & dinner included).
Day 4: Lake Turkana
The day is spent relaxing at the nearby lodge enjoying the swimming pool (optional) after the previous
long days' drives.
Additional optional activities include; visit to the desert museum, el molo and Turkana village visits,
enjoy a sunset boat ride on the lake or enjoy longer boat trips to South Island national park or the
Nabuyatom crater (weather & wind dependent). Overnight back at the campsite. (Breakfast, lunch &
dinner included).
Day 5: Lake Turkana to Ngurunit
After breakfast, we begin the long journey towards Ngurunit driving past the Turkana Wind farm. The
scenery is breathtaking. Ngurunit is an oasis surrounded by the Ndoto Mountains and home to Samburu
and rendille tribes.
Depending on the time we arrive; there is the option for you to enjoy a short walk up
the Ndoto streams to the natural swimming pools for a swim and slide (weather dependent). Bring out
your inner child as you enjoy this refreshing and fun experience! Alternatively enjoy an optional sunset nature walk to take in the beautiful surroundings. Overnight at the campsite. (Breakfast, lunch & dinner
included).
Day 6: Ngurunit to Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy breakfast as we make an optional visit to the women’s basket project to buy some souvenirs. We
may visit the rock slides if the previous day did not permit before beginning the journey towards
Samburu passing the magnificent Mount Ololokwe en route.
Arrive Samburu in time for an afternoon game drive. Samburu game reserve is home to the “special
five.” These animals are only found in the North of Kenya; being the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich,
reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. Be sure to look out for them on your game drive as well
as lions and various other wildlife.
Overnight at the campsite located inside the reserve. (breakfast, lunch & dinner included).
Day 7: Samburu National Reserve to Nairobi
Early breakfast followed by final game drive in Samburu game reserve concentrating around the Ewaso Nyiro River; renowned for herds of Elephants wading across. Thereafter; we begin the long drive back towards Nairobi to arrive in the early evening with drop off at your accommodation. End of services. (Breakfast & lunch included)

Easter & Christmas Surcharges
A surcharge would be charged per person per night on Good Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Easter Monday and on 24th 25th, 26th, 31st December and 1st January. The Surcharge would be confirmed at the time of booking for clarity purposes.

All weather firm shoe pair, short and dress to use during the day, trouser for use in the evenings with long sleeved shirt, sweater or jacket, hat, swimming costume, sunglass, camera, binocular, sun protection cream and insect repellent spray or cream.
